Buyer Agency
A Buyers Agent is a sales person who acts as an agent for the buyer only to find the most suitable properties and to negotiate on the buyer’s behalf. In the past many purchasers felt they were “taken care of” regardless of their agency status or relationship with their sales person. This assumption can create problems. In many situations a sub agency was created between the listing agent and selling agent as shown below. This leaves the buyer as a customer not a client. The buyer customer is entitled to fair and honest treatment but not to representation. The buyer client is entitled to full representation with all of the attendant responsibilities required by agency relationship.
